2018 Aoudad Hunting Update

The fall of 2018 has been eventful here in Mexico with some memorable aoudad hunts! A big thanks goes to each of our guests so far this season. It has been a pleasure hunting with each of you, and we hope to see you back again soon!

As a non-native species to Mexico, Aoudad can be hunted year-round here in Chihuahua. We often begin our guided hunts in the fall when the weather begins to cool. Then later into the fall and winter, aoudad makes a great combination hunt with trophy Coues deer.

Our hunts are all totally free range on historic and expansive ranches here in the mountains of northern Mexico. This country is spectacular. And it provides the perfect habitat for rugged, arid mountain species like aoudad, plus Coues deer, mule deer and Gould’s turkey.

This fall, we’ve seen some great rams. As you might expect with any wild sheep species, aoudad, or Barbary sheep as they are sometimes called, tend to stay in the steep, rugged canyons and rocky faces. Our hunters and guides have worked hard, and we have taken some great rams this year.

Now that we are approaching the start of Coues deer season here in northern Mexico, we turn our attention to combo hunts. Stay tuned for updates on our Coues deer, mule deer and combo hunts over the next few months.

In the meantime, here are a few photos from our aoudad hunting season so far this year:
